I was eight years old when I realized that my job was to creatively connect people. I use fact and fiction, the past and present, and the joy and mystery of living in a global culture.
I write fiction and nonfiction for adults and children. I have over 35 published books, hundreds of blogs and articles, and a stash of photos to enhance my words (photo insights).
My knowledge is always expanding as my experiences grow. The people around me (who share their lives) feed my life and imagination. As Maya Angelou wrote, “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
